Illinois Prison Project (IPP) is a young nonprofit organization in Chicago that seeks to reduce mass incarceration by providing legal services to individuals incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections. We focus on novel and creative approaches to prison reduction including mass commutation campaigns, sentence restructuring, public education, and advocacy.
IPP is looking for enthusiastic and well-organized Volunteer Office Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting criminal legal system reform and has experience with administrative tasks. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is retired or working part-time and is interested in volunteering for an impactful organization with a collaborative, positive office culture.
Volunteers are asked to work at least 5 hours per week (during regular 9am - 5pm business hours) for at least 3 months. We ask that volunteers work roughly the same days/times each week. Specific start and end dates are flexible. This position requires volunteers to work out of our IPP office, located at 53 West Jackson Blvd, Chicago IL 60604. This position is unpaid. IPP requires all team members to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will be required.
